When I realized that I had subconsciously ignored the brief of making a homemade switch because I felt intimidated by the whole process and had instead just made a nice clean box with a store-bought switch (stop being such a physical product designer. SHAME SHAME), I set upon to fix my transgressions. The nifty sliding door I had installed to conceal the innards could act like a switch with some re-wiring and getting the correct conductive materials, such as copper or aluminum.
